Oil painter, printmaker

A new collection of original prints is now available alongside oil landscapes on wood, canvas and perspex. Great garden studio with easy parking.

I am best known for my contemporary landscapes, often characterised by a low horizon and rich skies on canvas, paper, perspex and wood. My work is often large in scale and contains many thin layers of paint, which I then scratch away to reveal the underlying colours.  I also sometimes use pure graphite pencils and gold leaf to add texture. I originally trained in Furnishing Textiles at The London College of Furniture.  I then studied at The Cambridge School of Art and now live and have my studio in Cambridge, UK, after returning from living in Southern California.  In 2012 I completed the Certificate in Advanced Printmaking at The Curwen Print Study Centre. 

For the past few years I have been exhibiting in New York, London and locally in Cambridgeshire.  More recently I have been focusing on private and commercial commissions, including a large commission for Addenbrooke's Hospital. 

The landscape works of US artists Diebenkorn and Thiebaud, whose techniques of combining colour and pattern are a constant source of inspiration for me.
