Traditional hand-printed black-and-white photographs featuring timeless, atmospheric landscapes, seascapes and architecture. Some colour work.

I am a fine art photographer based in Cambridge, England. I specialise in black and white photography. I am primarily concerned with architectural and landscape photography, and particularly with the exploration of the forms and patterns inherent in these subjects.

I seek to uncover beauty and tranquillity in unlikely locations: many of my images are composed in such a way that they reveal and amplify the half-hidden abstract geometries I recognise within them. Similarly, when I photograph landscapes and seascapes, it is not simply for their own sake, but in order to explore the abstract patterns and textures they evoke. The human figure is usually absent from my work, although there is often a strong suggestion of its presence as a spectral memory.

I shoot all my current work on film on a medium format Bronica camera and all images are hand printed onto high quality fibre based paper.

I graduated with a BA in Fine Art and Graphic Design from London’s Camberwell College of Art in 1995, where I specialised in photography. In 2001 I completed a two-year course in professional photography.

I have work in collections, including a recent acquisition made by City law firm, Macfarlanes.
