Original Prints

Most of my original hand-pulled prints are limited edition drypoints using a perspex 'plate'.  I then add watercolour by hand.  I also sometimes make collographs using cardborad and glue and also carve the occassional lino plate if I'm after a more simplified design.  My prints can be found at Cambridge Contempoary Crafts.

Alison graduated in Graphic Design in 1990 and now works as a professional illustrator. She designs primarily for the stationery industry mainly for award winning card publishers Phoenix Trading.  She has also licenced designs to Green Pebble and Artist's Cards.  Her printmaking work continues to be inspired by her daily dog walks; from skeletal winter trees to close-up studies of seed heads, birds and bikes. Cambridge Contemporary Crafts stock her prints as well as her own range of cards and screen-printed tea towels.  She also supplies National Trust shops at Anglesey Abbey and Wicken Fen.

Alison is often asked to run printmaking workshops and is registered with the 'Artists in Schools' scheme.  She was selected for the highly aclaimed 2014 and 2016 Cambridge Original Printmakers Biennale.  Alison has participated in Open Studios every year since 1996 and looks forward to welcoming previous visitors as well as new ones to her studio in Milton.  She will be demonstrating printmaking techniques including drypoints, linoprinting and collographs. There will be a large selection of published and handmade cards and wrapping paper for sale plus framed and unframed prints.  Her popular collection of pick & mix coasters and range of screen printed tea towels will also be available.
