I have painted and taught art since l984. Still life, landscapes and nudes are favorite themes and have varied in interpretation over the years. Art critic, Nicola Upson, in her article for the Cambridgeshire Journal, wrote Travel is the inspiration behind most of Carole's work and she uses watercolour, pastel and mixed media in her interpretation of different themes. This approach, together with the fact that she always works on the spot rather than from photographs, gives a striking immediacy to her work allowing her the freshness of colour and strength of movement essential to good landscape painting. As her technique has progressed, the composition of her work has become increasingly dramatic and her recent exhibition is an excellent opportunity to view the development of an interesting artist.Ó This exhibition will include work from North West Yorkshire, Scotland, Wales and more local landscape. I have been exhibiting since l985 and have shown several times at the Old Fire Engine House both independently and as part of a well known Cambridge life drawing group 'The Posers'. I have also exhibited in many of the Cambridge local galleries, The Mall Gallery London and in Santa Fe New Mexico, US. Alongside my painting, I am a practicing psychotherapist registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and am in private practice in both Cambridge and London.
