Imagery of Fenland and Cambridgeshire abounds in the songs of HOBSON'S VOICE. Amazed by the range of stories in the people and landscapes around us here, this folk group from the village of Over has been writing songs and tunes for the last 15 years reflecting our local life and heritage.
There is a mine of image and idea which artists in other media might relate to and see as a resource for them to work with. HOBSON'S VOICE would welcome any member of CAMBRIDGE OPEN STUDIOS requesting (free, though a donation to postage would be welcomed) a copy of any of their four CDs.
One aim of HOBSON'S VOICE is to affirm that our land of Fenland and Cambridgeshire has its own histories and nature, which art can communicate.
They would like to work co-operatively or separately with anyone who might like to see what possibilities could be. Designer, Ralph Percival, of www.ralphdesign.co.uk, has already started with his striking CD case and booklet design.
To obtain any of the CDs please contact John Rees, founder of HOBSON'S VOICE.
