My work is culled from a selection of landscape memories of those places which have inspired me and continue to inspire me; Cornwall, Catalunya, Picardy and East Anglia in particular but not exclusively. I am drawn to those places with that special light that occurs where the land meets the sea or water. This is the environment that best reflects that spirit of place, its essence, that inspires me.
The images I create from these memories strive to reflect my search for beauty, peace and stillness in an often chaotic world.
I have a passionate love of colour, and am a great admirer of the work of Barbara Rae, David Blackburn, Brian Rutenberg and Arthur Maderson.
We are residents of Ely so if you wish to visit the studio, please contact me beforehand to make an appointment.
The studio will also be open of course, no appointment necessary, on the first four weekends in July when we participate in Cambridge Open Studios.
