I am an artist who loves portraiture and tries to capture the inner beauty of the person, persons and occasionally animals, in each of my paintings. My portraits are bright and vivid whether painted in oils on canvas or in soft chalk pastles on heavy weight paper. I also do monochrome portraits in charcoal and in graphite.

To me the most important feature of any portrait are the eyes. As Shakespeare once said, 'The eyes are the windows to your soul'. Eyes in a portrait must speak to me and in the finished painting, to connect with the viewers.

I trained at two art schools where I studied drawing, painting, sculpture, batik painting and ceramics. I worked for a short while as a textile designer, before concentrating purely on painting and portraiture. Alongside painting, I designed jewellery for a prestigious jeweller. My paintings and portraits grace homes and offices all over the world and I have been exhibiting as a member of Cambridge Open Studios since 2001.

I accept commissions and my greatest satisfaction is in viewing the surprised delight, on the face of the person or persons, (who commission me), when they see the completed painting.

Visitors are welcome and there is always ample parking.
