I have lived in East Anglia all my life and now live in the village of Great Wilbraham, where I produce work in my Summer House Studio.
Watercolour has been my passion for many years and my aim is to create paintings which will lift the spirit and enhance life.
Natural subjects, flowers, still life and landscapes are my forte, trying to capture the essence of the subject's beauty in a loose and sometimes semi-abstract style, introducing acrylic or watercolour inks and experimenting with collage and tissue. Using a variety of papers, complements flower studies most effectively, bringing elements of texture and vitality into my work. I have a special interest in painting original cards in a variety of styles, using watercolour, inks, collage or incorporating lace and beads on papers and tissue.
Several of my designs have been accepted by Artists Cards and my current local retail outlets are Cambridge Contemporary Art, Saffron Walden Gallery, Cambridge Botanic Gardens, Burwash Manor shops, Barton and many private clients.
I have participated in Cambridge Open Studios since 2001 and have exhibited in Oundle, Sudbury and Saffron Walden galleries, Cambridge Contemporary Art, Ejart Creative, Grange Farm Barn,Hasketon and in various group exhibitions as a member of Cambridge Drawing Society and the Society of East Anglian Watercolourists.
Regular workshops for small groups and individuals are held in my studio and I am a tutor at Tindalls Art Shops in Cambridge and Newmarket.
