I received my diploma in fine art from Byam Shaw School of Drawing and Painting, Kensington in 1971. Soon afterwards I moved to Yogyakarta, Indonesia where I studied Batik painting in this cultural centre of Java. Then followed other long periods overseas, predominantly in Indonesia, but also in Arabia and the Gulf where the focus of my work was on drawings and landscapes. During the late eighties I concentrated on water colour paintings on the theme of tropical gardens and exhibited in Bandung, West Java. I returned to Cambridge in 1994 and have since concentrated on landscapes in watercolour and life paintings. I have recently completed paintings in and around Cambridge, of the East Anglia coast, and on my travels at home and abroad.
