Oil paintings of local wetlands, sea and sky
  • Visitors All Year

I work from my garden studio in the Cambridgeshire fens painting the wetlands of Sutton Gault,  the dark, moody fenland fields and massive skies. My other inspiration is Northumberland, especially Lindisfarne Island and also the coastline of East Anglia.

I paint from thumbnail sketches made while out walking. Using either gouache or oils on paper and board, I translate the mood and memory of the sketch into the painting.

I have always been creative, stitching from a young age which eventually lead me to a City & Guilds in Creative Embroidery. After several years working with fabrics and thread, I studied with the Open College of the Arts on their Painting course and now painting has become my main focus.
