The majority of my work is thrown on the wheel and uses a white stoneware clay. I decorate with a variety of 'bought' glazes and glazes that I have made up myself from established recipes I also use coloured slips and underglaze to decorate under a clear satin or glossy glaze. All work is currently fired in an electric kiln.

I came late to the practice of pottery and find I have discovered a fascinating world of endless creativity. I have found a love for the process of throwing pots on the wheel but also experiment with hand-built and molded shapes. I use mostly stoneware clays. Glazes are usua;lly bought although I now make more of my own using well tried and tested recipes as well as experimenting with my own creations. Firing takes place in my electric kiln up to 1220 C.

Once a pot is built or is created on the wheel I alter the surfaces to give texture and decoration. I like the way this causes glazes to break and change colour as the surface of the form changes.

As a member of Anglian Potters I exhibit at various events organised by that group. I also exhibit at Wood End Gallery, Pertenhall in Bedfordshire and will be taking part in a number of other exhibitions in Cambridgeshire over the coming years.

Visitors are welome at any time but please call first on 01480 404785 or 07572 545690. My home is on the B645 just outside the village of Hail Weston. (If using a SatNav device to find me then the house is about 300yards from the indicated final destination).
